Now the time comes when David will be king. He was anointed many, many years ago, but until he finally became king it took many years and he had a very hard life, because he was persecuted such a long time - he had to live in caves. His life was threatened day and night. This was very hard and humbling for David. Perhaps the Lord prepared him during that hard time to be a good king of Israel.
